What's New

25th April 2010   I finally got around to updating the Home Page.  Not sure if it's the finished result yet but hey ho.
I also added another couple of new pages, Panoramas and Rooftop Fun in the Photography section.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm using too many fancy effects on my site, effects which need Java installed, JavaScript enabled and QuickTime installed.  There's the old adage of KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) but I like the effects.  Besides, one effect helps to show panoramas to the best advantage.
If you find any problems or have problems viewing my pages, please do Contact Me and let me know.

9th April 2010   More work completed tonight.  Several pages updated.
And finally, the Animations page completed after months of showing "Under Construction".
A couple of new pages added to the Photography section.
I've found some more images which I'll be adding soon but they need some work first.
Check back soon!

8th April 2010   First new page added, the most important page.  In Search Of.....
It near bought a tear to my eye creating it.

Lets hope Google indexes this page soon and someone out there can help.
One day. Some day. Maybe....

7th April 2010   Finally got around to revamping my website. Work still in progress. More pages to add and hopefully more photography and some different pages of interest.

And a special.  Something I hope someone out there will be able to help me with.

7th January 2010   Well, we did get away for our New Year/Anniversary break to Fir Tree Farm and we're now 100% sure we're selling the caravan.  The caravan and all accessories are now sold!

In time, I'll probably revamp this website and archive the caravanning pages.

27th December 2009   How time flies!  I can't believe we haven't been away in our beloved caravan since the beginning of October.  We've been busy redecorating several rooms in the house so our money has been used for the redecorating.  However, we're finally off in the caravan for our usual Anniversary/New Year break tomorrow so I'll report on this trip away in the New Year.  However, it could be our last, or our last but one trip away!

Alas, we're now thinking of selling the caravan and the caravan forum, giving up caravanning altogether. Our reasons are many and personal with other ideas and ventures in the pipeline. At the time of writing, we're 75% sure we will be selling the caravan in the New Year of 2010. If anyone are interested in registering their interest in the caravan and/or the forum, feel free to contact me.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish you all a Happy New Year.

23rd October 2009   Yet another trip to Barn Farm for my wife's birthday break.  I'm rather late in writing up this latest little report as I've had a million and one other things to do.  Must get away again soon!

28th September 2009   Another trip away yet again to Bramcote Mains, our 3rd time there but only our 1st this year. We must be slacking!  As before, a lovely break and a few new changes too.

6th September 2009   We took a semi-planned 7 nights away in the Peak District for a few reasons, coinciding with the August Bank Holiday, something we normally try to avoid.   This turned into two trips.  Topley Head Farm being the first which we had originally booked for 7 nights, ending in cutting our visit to 3 nights and spending another 5 nights at Windy Harbour instead.

25th August 2009   And once more back to Lincs and Barn Farm.  As mentioned in the review last time, we had already booked to return for a reason.  As before, a very enjoyable stay with excellent weather.

15th August 2009   Yet another trip to Lincs and once again, Barn Farm.  Well, I did say it was one we'd certainly use again but we didn't expect it to be quite so soon.  Not complaining, mind!

8th August 2009   I decided to update the website to include a continuation of our Caravanning Labour of Love which is linked to from the main Caravanning page.  This shows the further modifications we have done in the 2 years (nearly) we have now had the caravan.

26th July 2009   Another trip to Lincs area to be close for a visit to the in-laws as well as a nice relaxing break for my birthday.  Barn Farm, Sedgebrook near Grantham is one I would recommend and would certainly use again.

11th July 2009   After 20 months of caravanning, we finally make our 30th trip away to Cardyke House.  Mixed feelings about this one but we did have a good time away.

21st June 2009   A wee break was had this week at Heathcote Lakes, Warwick.  It's a really nice lakeside site with a lovely Farm Shop.

Next trip away is already booked, second week in July for 6 nights in Lincolnshire.  This will be our 30th trip away in 20 months.  But first, a few changes to the caravan to relocate the TV and Satellite to the front of the van.

26th May 2009   Bank Holiday Weekend and we went away?!?  Ooer!!  We try not to do Bank Holiday weekends but this was a necessity as it was our Nephew's wedding in Chepstow, Wales so we booked 3 nights at New House Farm, Aust, Bristol.  A lovely site and excellent weather, what more do we need?

No further trips booked or planned now so we need to start looking.  Can't wait 'til next time!

20th May 2009   Another wee break with a purpose, a return to Mound Lodge to be near Ferry Meadows and meet up with some friends from the The Digital Site. (TDS)  This may well be the last photo shoot meet for a while because I no longer own TDS nor have the same interest, inclination or inspiration in photography as I used to.  I handed TDS over to a good friend of mine who will continue running it.  I hope to put more of my efforts into this site and my camping and caravanning forum, Carry on Camping.

29th April 2009   Latest venture was a trip to Blue Dolphin Holiday Park near Filey for the Whitby Goth Festival weekend.  A lovely weekend it was too.  Rather than do a separate page for the Goth photography, I've added just a few in this report.  I didn't take all that many anyway. :-)

11th April 2009   We hoped to go back to the Royal Oak Public House with the caravan since we had to attend a funeral in the area but ended up back at Little Acres again, our 3rd time there.  And yet again, there were a few new changes!  Good or bad?  You decide.

27th March 2009   Our first trip away in the caravan for 2009, a wee three night break at Ashby Lane Farm.  We've been meaning to try and get away earlier but hey, better late than never!  Hopefully we'll be getting away more often from here on.

3rd January 2009   We spent 4 nights at Mound Lodge, a CL just down the road from Ferry Meadows.  This was for our Wedding Anniversary and New Year break.

Happy New Year everyone!

17th December 2008   Just back from a wee 2-nighter at The Royal Oak Public House (again!) our 22nd trip away.

29th November 2008   Just a wee update to the site to report here.  In a bid to combat spam from Bots crawling my site, I have made two changes which benefit us all.  First, have have changed the way your email addresses display on the Guestbook.  Instead of being a clickable link which SpamBots can use, email addresses are now displayed in text form with [at] instead of @ and [dot] instead of the decimal point.  I have also added the need for a verification code on the Contact Me page to help deter SpamBots.

Aren't I good to you!!  LOL

21st November 2008   No time to go away again just yet as things have been hectic just lately.  Soon, we hope.  Soon!
Meanwhile, for those of you who have read A Heart-warming Request, my water animation story and been interested in having a go yourself, you may be interested in  reading the small update I have placed at the bottom.

6th November 2008   Just back from staying at Littleover Farm for 3 nights.  Not a place we would personally visit again.
I also decided to modify the list of places we've been (Caravanning Chronicles) to include the cost per night (at the time) and the distance from home for each site.

23rd October 2008   Just spent three nights at lovely Kendeline Fields Farm, our 17th trip away this year so far, bringing our total to 20 trips since we bought the caravan.

11th October 2008   Just back from our latest caravan adventures.  The latest reports are Shamrock Nurseries and Haven's Golden Sands.  I decided to stay with my current cameras for now and have invested in a fast Intelligent Charger and new batteries.  They lasted well over the last week.  More photos will be added soon.

29th September 2008   I think all the Photography pages are done - for now.  I was going to add some more tutorials of interest but decided against it since they are already on TDS, my photo forum.  Why replicate them?  So I changed that section to "Special Interest" for now.  One good thing has come out of creating this site and that is it's reviving my interest in Photography once again.  I've decided to sell (or part ex.) my three digital cameras for a DSLR.  So until then, there won't be anything new added to the site except caravanning adventures.  I don't even think I need the "Fun" link anymore so that might change or be removed.

28th September 2008   Well, I've started to get the Photography pages up and running.  I still couldn't decide on the gallery presentation layout so I decided to stay with the same method used for the caravanning pages.  For now.  More will be added over the course of the day.  I might decide to change it later.

27th September 2008   Still working on the Photography but decided to change the way the links work.  Also thought I'd add this page so people can see at a glance any new additions to the site over time.  I WILL get the Photography section done soon. I will, I will, I will!  I just keep getting distracted and spotting other things to improve upon.  Hmmm... this is turning into a Blog, isn't it?  Maybe I should change the name.

25th September 2008   I started to look into ideas for presentation and layout for the Photography but while trying to decide, I decided I didn't like the way the photos were presented in the Caravanning Chronicles so I've changed them.

23rd September 2008   10 days later, the site officially went live.  I started linking to it from other sites.  It's far from finished though, I've only got the Caravanning Chronicles set up and a few other main pages.  It's time consuming but great fun!  We were supposed to have gone away in the caravan again this week but my wife is poorly.

13th September 2008   Decided to set up my own personal webspace again.  Bought yet another domain and hosting and started design the site and lay out the basic pages.
