18th Trip
Shamrock Nurseries, Mablethorpe, Lincs. CC CL
5th – 6th October 2008
Shamrock Nurseries is a Caravan Club
Certificated Location which we decided to book last minute for a
one-night stay in order to travel to Mablethorpe late Sunday afternoon
instead of Monday morning for our stay at
Golden Sands. It was a very wet and miserable Sunday morning and we
feared we would have to hitch up in this dismal weather later that
afternoon but as luck would have it, the rain stopped and the sun came
out towards the middle of the afternoon. We left later than anticipated
but the journey was a warm and sunny one until we arrived at
Shamrock
Nurseries just before 7:30pm where we pitched up in the dark.
We awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunny day with hardly a cloud
in sight. This was the first time we could see the site we had arrived
at the night before. It was gorgeous! A quiet little field of half an
acre, 5 electric hook up points and one hard-standing for anyone who
wants it. At the back was a little gate which opened to a bridge over a
dyke which led to a lovely walkway, great for anyone with dogs since
there were poop bins along the way. Venture further over the "hill" up
some sandy steps and you were right on the beach! I spent a little while
taking photographs here and took a (almost) birds-eye-view photo of the
site we stayed on. No need for Google Earth here!
Sadly, we had to move on since we had already booked and paid for our
pitch at Golden Sands. It was a lovely site, £10 per night with EHU and
a cottage to rent too. Great for any friends or family who don't have a
caravan. Toilets, shower and laundry room too! This one is definitely on
our list of places to visit again in the future.
