Blue Dolphin Holiday Park, Filey Haven
Holiday Park 24th – 27th April 2009
Blue Dolphin Holiday Park is
a Haven site in Filey, a traditional English seaside resort and fishing town
on the North East coast of England. Blue Dolphin is situated on the
cliff tops of the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast and is between the popular
seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey.
Again, this isn't everyone's cup of tea but it just
happened to be the nearest Haven site to Whitby, the location of a planned
Photo Shoot Meet with a few members of my
Photo Forum for the Whitby Goth
Festival weekend. I used the voucher in the back of the Caravan Club
Great Days Out booklet which offered three free nights. A £6
administration charge was payable making this £2 per night with EHU.
Not bad! However, pitches are available from as little as £3 per night
anyway, especially at this time of year.
The site was pretty busy for April, especially on the
Friday and Saturday. The neighbouring pitches, a tent on one side and
a caravan with awning on the other were pretty close to our caravan.
It's quite a large touring park with it's own facilities on site and the
entertainments complex not far on the statics site, offering swimming pools,
gym, amusements and much more. We weren't there for the facilities nor
used them, just the pitch for the Goth Festival.
Would we go again? Only if we had reason to be in
the area and was cheap again otherwise we prefer a small 5-Van site.
