Welcome to my World
of
Berwick-upon-Tweed
Berwick-upon-Tweed was the
location for a weeks holiday September 2010 and what a lovely holiday it
was! Advertised as a Cottage Holiday, it looked more like a council
house from the outside but they were actually maisonettes. However,
inside was very nice and you could well be in a cottage by the sea.
It only cost us £208 for the week, Saturday to Saturday
and was right on the prom, about 30 feet from the seafront! Everything
was provided and I mean everything. Well, except food and drink of
course. Bedding, towels, toilet rolls, even hand wash and shower gels.
The kitchen was fully equipped, even a washing machine! We booked an
Asda delivery weeks before going and ordered our weeks shopping online and
had it delivered the evening of arrival. Bliss! Wouldn't have
been able to do that in the caravan as we didn't have the room to store it.
It was immaculate inside, everything brand new, leather sofas and even a Sky
HD and flat screen TV set up and working!
There's very few caravan sites which are close to the sea
and even then, none of them (as far as I'm aware) THIS close. And
you'd be lucky to get a pitch close to the sea without booking well in
advance and paying a higher price than usual. With only our clothes to
pack and take with us and unpack into the large built-in wardrobes when we
arrived after a leisurely drive without towing, hitching up or un-hitching,
our holiday began immediately. No pitching up, no leveling, no having
to go shopping, no messy smelly chemicals, no fetching water, no waiting for
the caravan to warm up, no waiting for hot water, beds already made up (two
double bedrooms), yes, we're happy!
