24th Trip
Ashby Lane Farm, Lutterworth CC CL 22nd –
25th March 2009
Another chance to take the
caravan away to a site not far from my mum for a few nights break and so we could see her for Mother's
Day, even though it was only 20 miles from home. We decided to try
somewhere different for a change and this was it. They only installed EHU about a month ago, February this year.
It's a nice enough site in a very quiet location, a 5 van
site set on the edge of an 11 acre field! If you prefer onsite
facilities and luxuries, this site is not for you. Whilst there are
now 16 amp EHU points, there are no toilets, no shower block and no waste
facilities. You are expected to take your rubbish home with you or you
could take them to the shops or filling station in town and pop your rubbish
in the bins there.
A very clean and tidy site with well mown grass, you can
pitch anywhere around the fence perimeter where there are three double EHU
points, 3 drinking water taps and one for Elsan rinsing. No hard
standings but the ground was dry, firm and level. Just by the cattle grid on
the entrance to the farm house is the Elsan, a drainage cover in the ground.
At the time of our visit, part of the site was cordoned off with a temporary
electric fence for the lambing season.
At only £8 per night with EHU and friendly and helpful
owners, it's certainly one I'd recommend.
