Welcome to my World
of
Animations
Animations are fun. In moderation. In
my opinion.
What are animations? Animations are, as the name suggests, an
animated image created by layering a series of still images into one
file called a Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) which, when viewed on a
web page, will "flick through" the images in series at a predetermined
time interval, creating the illusion of movement or animation. The
file must be saved as a .gif for the effect to work.
We've all seen the many emoticons we all use in Instant Messenger and
chat programs such as these...

The first one, for example, is created using 15 separate images which
make up the animation.

With time and patience, simple graphics like this can be created for
personal effect.
But what about real images? Real photographs? Yes indeed, it's
certainly possible.
Here's a fun one I did for a laugh, for Halloween, using just two
photos.....

A friend of mine gave me a photo of his boss and asked me if I could
manipulate it for him as a joke. I shudder to think what the
reaction of his boss was but here was the result he wanted.....

You can also combine several photos taken quickly to create effects like
this one.....

I hope this has given you food for thought and a willingness to try this
out for yourself.
