12th Trip
5 Ways Lakes, Wolvey CC CL 06th – 07th July 2008

This was just a one-nighter at this Caravan Club Certificated Location. Why a one nighter? Well, because we promised to visit my mum again and time was limited. We'd liked to have stayed longer but one night away in the caravan is better than nothing! Besides, it gave us a chance to try out the last one remaining site close to where my mum lives.

You will remember we recently visited Wolvey Caravan Park? Well, this 5 Van CL is only just down the road from there. Not particularly cheap for a CL at £10 per night plus £2 for electric but we wanted to check it out nonetheless.

It's a nice little site actually and seems to be in four sections. Four fields. One field seems to host permanent or long-stay caravanners. Another larger field seems to be for rallies, tents and other non-electric campers. Another field hosts the toilets and shower block and Elsan point and also a large cabin which is where you pay and also appears to be a cafe. It's not unlike a truckers cafe though. And finally, the field we were in, which seems to be dedicated to Caravan Club members.

This is set out to be truly a 5 pitch field and what large pitches they were! Large enough to pitch a large motorhome in sideways AND two cars! (See photo below) In one corner of the field is a 6-way EHU post and in the other corner a 2-way one. Some of the 6-way post seemed to be used for the permanent caravanners in the adjoining field through the hedge.

Being a bit out of the way and in the middle of nowhere, I don't expect this to be one of the "on the must see" list for most campers unless used as a rest stop or a need to stop in the area. The only downside was is it's close to a main and busy road.

A nice enough site but for future visits to my mum, believe it or not, we would prefer to pitch at Bramcote Mains.
